2017 – Post #3

So, here is a quick picture update at to where we are.  This is the first tray I potted up to.  You can see the plants are doing well.

And here are the grow shelves in action.

My over-wintered plants are doing well.

I missed a watering and one of my plants dried up completely.

I’m growing a Key Lime tree from seed.  It’s slowly coming along.  I do not think I’ll get too many limes from it this year…

This was one of the first plants to germinate.  The leaves are huge.

The chickens are growing as well.  I had to change their bedding tonight.

I potted up 49 plants tonight from their starter cells into these 3×3 pots.  They seem to really take hold after being in the new pots a few days.

2017 Post #2

It is March 20, and I’m still plugging away.

I’ve been able to get enough plants around that we’ll have a good pepper draft. Descriptions and final numbers will come in a bit, but for now here are some preliminary numbers:

I will have some more that are not shown here. I am not to far from potting up more Jimmy Nardellos, and a few other varieties.

Also, just yesterday, I planted some newer seeds that looked interesting: a Bhut crossed with a Yellow Brain Strain, and a different Scotch Bonnet.

Here are some more pics from around the homestead:

A seedling with 4 cotyledons!  I’ve not seen that before…

Not sure what is growing on this fruit bush – hopefully it’s friendly

2017 Season – Post #1

I got off to a bit of a late start this year, but things are finally moving along, so I thought I’d get the grow log going once again.

Here’s a wide shot of the grow room:

And I now have to have a little temporary brooder in there!

They are coming along!

And here is like my 4th round of planting – filling in some gaps of some I didn’t get in yet.

These are my over wintered plants:

The chickens like to jump out already.  I’m sure this won’t be a problem…

And here is a grow list as of now…
