Podcast: The Lines of Battle

This is the first sermon of our Lenten series, “Warriors,” and it comes from Romans 5:12-19 where Paul is contrasting Adam and Christ by holding them in parallel. Just as the first man, Adam, sinned and brought death, so much more the second, Christ was obedient and gives life. Romans 5 really presents two options, humanity and it’s death in the path of Adam, or the new humanity and eternal life in the way of Christ. In the opening of this message I touch on the tragedy in Japan and use it to point out that we tend to underestimate the destructive nature of sin. By that I mean that the world is profoundly broken and in tragedy we clearly see that something is wrong.
