This is the fourth week of our sermon series titled, “Roots” where I have tied in some Wesleyan background with the lectionary readings. This week’s reading comes from Philippians 3:4b-14. Here Paul shows his amazing credentials of his being a Hebrew of Hebrews and righteousness, but then says all of that is rubbish compared to knowing Christ Jesus. Jesus is the one thing; the most important thing.
