Podcast: “I Smell Burning Horses”

This week’s sermon comes from 2 Kings 2:1-14 and it covers the story of Elijah ascending to the heavens, and Elisha continuing his ministry.  For this message I raise the question of our legacy as a church.  Will our community be positively impacted because we were here?  Then I show the parallels between Elisha and the church today.  The program that I mention, Kids Hope USA can be found here.

i’m liking the characterization of the “uncomfortableness” of Elijah and the parallels of Elisha and us today–because when you play out the parallels, there are a lot of things about Jesus that make me “uncomfortable”

haha, “we in America don’t follow after the gods of the land”, how far was your tongue in your cheek?

yeah, lines like that are delivered with a wink and a grin – and people get it, which is cool.
