Podcast: Alive part 4 – Sent out

This is the 4th sermon in the Easter season sermon series where we consider what the resurrection means for us. The scripture for this sermon is from John 20:19-31 and it is the story popularly known as being about “doubting Thomas.” In this message I hope to focus on Christ’s commission to us as found in the 4th Gospel. We are sent out, just as the Father sent out Christ. By the way, you can find some awesome youtube videos of Voltron if you are not sure to whom I am referring in the opening.

Podcast: Alive part 3 – Peace

This is the third sermon in the Easter season and it deals with the peace that Christ offers us.  We have been asking, or at least considering the question: if Jesus really did rise from the dead, what does that mean for us today?  People credit Christianity with promising many different things that it does not.  However, Christ does promise to give us his peace in John 14:23-31.  In this sermon I reference a few pictures that I showed the congregation.  I’ll link two of them.  First, here is a picture of my Great great grandpa William Allanson Crowell’s grave marker at Gettysburg, and second, here is the deadly squirrel.

Podcast: Alive part 2 – Disciples of Life

Alight, I am finally getting to this…  Here is the second sermon of the Easter season, called Disciples of Life.  It was based on Acts 9:31-43 where Peter does a couple of miracles.  We are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ who are fighting for life – and this is why we do the ministries we do.
